London 2012 Summer Olympic Games

London 2012 held at London, England from 27th July to 12th August, 2012

The London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony took place at 9 pm on 27th July, 2012.

The Games were officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
It was the second Games the Queen had opened personally, the first being the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.

The closing ceremony of the London 2012 Summer Olympics was held on 12 August 2012.
The ceremony included a handover of the Olympic flag by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, to Eduardo Paes, Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, the host city of the 2016 Summer Olympics.

204 Nations participated  with Around 10,500 athletes

Games were consist of 26 sports and 39 disciplines.

38-member Pakistan Contingent participated in the London 2012 Olympic Games

The top three winners were: United States (USA), China and Great Britain.
